Pam Johnston has a BFA from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs) and a Master Degree in Education with a concentration in Media and Library Science from the University of West Georgia. She has been working in Hamilton County Schools since 2004 and at the Thrasher library since 2008.

Mrs. Johnston is married and has two grown children, Maggie and Walt. The family pets include a sweet standard Poodle named Shadow and a demanding kitty named Guinevere. She enjoys keeping her backyard bird feeders full, too, and considers the birdies almost like pets. Her husband, Jimmy, grew up on Signal Mountain and went to Thrasher Elementary School. The family moved from across town back to Signal Mountain in the fall of 2016. Her free time is spent working in the yard, enjoying music and concerts with her husband and friends, art, interior design, family genealogy and American history. Her favorite types of children’s literature include historical fiction, biographies and folk tales. She hopes to have more opportunities to travel in the future since the children are grown and to continue to renovate their home.
