Tracey Peele

Tracey Peele, Exceptional EducationTracey Peele, Exceptional Education Teacher, grew up on Signal Mountain and attended Thrasher Elementary School. She graduated from Girls Preparatory School in 1981. She attended the University of Alabama and graduated in 1986 with a B.S. in Advertising, Minors in Marketing and Sales and a Concentration in Graphics. In 1993, she completed her M.S. in Exceptional Education, Diagnostic and Prescriptive, from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Pi. She is currently certified to teach exceptional education, grades K-12; gifted, grades K-12; and general education, grades 4-8.

She married Frank Peele, Jr. in 1993 and has three daughters; Julia (age 22), Kate (age 18) and Laura (age 15). After completing her Master’s degree, Mrs. Peele chose to be a stay-at-home mom. While her daughters attended Thrasher Elementary, she served as a volunteer in classrooms, on Thrasher’s PTA and Co-Chaired the Playground Committee.

In 2008, Mrs. Peele started her career with Hamilton County’s Department of Education by working as a substitute teacher. She has also worked as an educational assistant and a certified teacher. She has served as an advisor for students participating in Model United Nations, Youth in Government and Destination Imagination. She also was the coordinator for CCA’s Scripps Spelling Bee. She started and co-sponsored Math Quiz Bowl and Middle School Science Olympiads at CCA. At Thrasher Elementary, she has served as a judge and pronouncer for the Scripps Spelling Bee. In 2016-17, she sponsored the Coding Club at Thrasher Elementary School.

In her spare time, she enjoys walking, reading books and visiting museums.
