Karen Simpson

Karen Simpson teaches at ThrasherKaren Simpson, originally from East Ridge, moved to Jefferson City, Tennessee, to attend Carson-Newman College. After graduating with her B.A. in English and psychology and a minor in music, she continued at Carson-Newman to graduate with her M.A.T. in elementary education before returning to Chattanooga in 1989. She worked as a legal secretary at the Chattanooga firm then known as Stophel & Stophel before beginning her career with Hamilton County Schools in 1993. Mrs. Simpson’s teaching experience spans grade 2 through 8th grade Algebra I as well as freshman English composition (Carson-Newman). Mrs. Simpson has taught at Thrasher Elementary since 1997. When she isn’t teaching or spending time with family, she enjoys reading, writing, piano, and dogs. Poodles are her favorite breed, and she currently has two standard poodle family members, Ben and Jazz.
